Description

Design-build delivery carries with it a team-wide responsibility to gain a full understanding of the owner's intentions and the factors that will drive value. This panel of experts will review how important clearly defined owner goals and objectives are, how design excellence impacts community development and why team members should be mindful of the lasting impact they have on the built and natural environment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Design-Build delivery carries with it a team-wide responsibility to understand the Owner’s intention and the factors that will drive value into the process and its outcome.
  • The four key strategies for design excellence in design-build include collaborative culture, early engagement and continual review, ensuring long-term value and community development.
  • Well written functional scope and performance requirements are at the heart of effective design-build project delivery.
  • Successful design-build is not predicated on traditional project management skills that protect each party’s rights. Instead, the design-build team morph these traditional skillsets into tools used to achieve an innovative common ground.
