DART's foray into design-build was enabled for its projects when the Texas Legislature enacted House Bill 1886 into law in June 2007. Since that time, the agency has successfully delivered, or is in the process of delivering, 12 projects totaling $3,782,870,464 utilizing design-build and construction management/general contractor. In this session, you will engage with DART procurement executives to gain an understanding of the importance of the inter-agency organized approach to yield a successful design-build project. They will discuss the advantages gained and the lessons learned, as well as how to apply the appropriate decision making process for achieving better outcomes.
