Description

Due to the changing economic marketplace, there has been increased interest from Owners in the pursuit of P3 / DBFOM projects. The construction and operational costs on large projects have risen in recent years and many public Owners are being required to deliver on multiple programmatic and operational commitments with limited budgets and aggressive schedules. The principles of the Progressive approach to Design Build team and process are essential and beneficial.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define the Owner’s role in Progressive DB in P3 PROJECTS and the tools Owners can use to manage quality and control over critical operational issues.
  • Discuss the relationship between the Owner and Architect, and if the relationship has eroded with the additional requirements/constraints of a P3 project. Discuss importance of team chemistry, expected qualifications, overall collaborative culture, what respect looks like with the umbrella of finance.
  • Discuss the decision-making process to establish a suitable project approach that fits project type, amount of information, known scope, budget, schedule, client tolerance to risk and type of risk, client acceptance of giving some control, etc.
