Description
Technological advances combined with maturity in integrated delivery partnership models are paving the way for modular delivery of some of the most complex and costly systems in facilities and infrastructure – MEP. To realize the time and cost benefits of modular delivery for MEP systems, early engagement of specialty trades is essential. The panel will discuss advantages, challenges, best practices and lessons learned from the perspective of the owner, architect, general contractor and specialty contractor.
Learning Objectives:
- How to engage specialty trades earlier in the design process.
- Identify critical path systems and components that might be designed and built offsite.
- Recognize opportunities to save time, reduce risks and manage costs through integrated modular delivery.
- Design with safety in mind to minimize high-risk activities.
