This is a 101 tutorial to educate attendees on the emergence of Public-Private Partnerships as an alternative project delivery model. This program will focus on both the structural & commercial differences between Design-Build and P3’s, as well as core differences that are key to understanding for all of those in the design-build community and how those differences impact design-builders. The discussion will include procurement phase vs. construction phase differences, as well as specific issues including team member interaction, 3rd party interaction, design oversight process, and QA/QC structures among others. Hear from experienced panelists comprised of Owner, Design-Builder, Developer, Designer, and (last but not least) Lawyer who all have experience in both delivery models, and in both vertical and horizontal P3 projects. The discussion is designed to be the most helpful to those who are experienced in the design-build community while looking for a higher-level understanding of the differences and implications between the design-build environment and the P3 environment.
