Closing General Session: Denver - A Great City Imagined and Realized

Description

DBIA along with the Colorado Chapters of AIA, AGC, ACEC and SMPS, ABC Rocky Mountain, the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado, the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Denver Partnership are excited to host this year’s Closing General Session, Denver - A Great City Imagined and Realized. The session will feature several past Denver Mayors, including Federico Peña, who will discuss the city’s growth since the opening of Denver International Airport and how it relates to urban development, community involvement, finance and P3s. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss how the built environment in Denver transformed during each Mayor’s tenures and some of the key challenges each Mayor experienced in achieving their vision.
  • Examples of projects that occurred during each Mayor’s tenure that made Denver the great city it is today.
  • Unique challenges to collaborating with the surrounding communities and how were they overcome.
  • Where can we go and what are the challenges facing the visionaries, designers and builders in the coming decades.
