MD03 - Occupancy in 26 Weeks: Lenovo's Hyper-Tracked Project

Nov 2, 2015 3:30pm ‐ Nov 2, 2015 4:30pm

Credits: None available.

Standard: $35.00

Description

Design build delivery coupled with a highly respectful and collaborative environment was the formula to overcome a very aggressive timeline to design and build Lenovos campus for their to-be acquired IBM x-86 server division. The project includes 465,000 SF of major renovations of 2 four story office buildings, in 6 very short months. This case study explains lean techniques, IPD lite, sustainable design / construction, and most importantly teamwork.

Learning Objectives:

  • How an integrated process allowed ordinary individuals to synergize and achieve extraordinary goals
  • How early engagement of the entire team resulted in achieving unrealistic design & construction timelines
  • Lean tools used to overcome the schedule challenges
  • How sustainability was maintained as a focus despite the super aggressive schedule
