In this session participants will have the opportunity to learn from our experience of working to evolve a maintenance based D-B process for the City of Kansas City Missouri to include complicated design elements within the process of their $2-$4M projects. The team will share project examples and new lessons learned from the current project the team is working on.
The design-build process in Kansas City has evolved over the past 6 years. You can learn how you can expand your program too.
The process has been used to start construction projects faster than it has taken traditional projects to just get surveyed.
Relatively small design-build projects can include complex design elements, greatly increasing the range of projects eligible to be delivered through design-build.
Lessons were learned along the way, such as finding gaps in the City’s specifications when applied to design-build projects. We’ll tell you about these and others that will need to be anticipated in the project budget.
