Confronted with an aging and antiquated wastewater facility, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers embraced design-build to aggressively remedy this problem at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. Highly-effective collaboration between all parties resulted in design completion within seven months and contractor mobilization within four months. This presentation will focus on the successful design-build approach employed to meet the fast-track completion schedule on budget and will present the lessons learned for owners considering this delivery method.
