The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers successfully employed design-build to address a most pressing water need at their pre-eminent national training facility in Fort Irwin, California. The project was initiated to efficiently address source water arsenic and fluoride levels that exceeded drinking water standards. Located in the High Mohave Desert, maximizing recovery of their limited resource was a key priority. This presentation will highlight the approaches and successes with an emphasis on the owner's perspective.
